Advent 25 - Day 24 : Phew! Made It

Just Get to Grandma's House

So, Glenda has finally made it to grandma’s house, but grandma is clearly not at home. And now she must confront the big, bad wolf. Never one to back away from a fight especially when grandma's in peril, Glenda steps up to face the wolf.

However, the big, bad wolf has form and promptly eats Glenda.

Oh well, I guess I will just have to chalk this one up as a win for the bad guys. 😟

Snuck off of a crafty hour this morning to paint up Grandma? And of course a team photo*.

*Just realised that I forgot the ghost. No time now!

Well another advent challenge completed and now time for a lunchtime Christmas beer.

But before that I also found a bit of time last night to start working on some of my other projects.

A couple more Roman gangers done.

And a few more bits stuck on an ork dreadnought.

And of course Merry Christmas to everyone 😁

Gangs of Rome on a Friday Night

Friday Night Fun

Work ongoing on the gangs of Rome, with the two small starter gangs built and the first mob base completed. The texture roller turned up during the week, and I have obviously started using it to make the bases and add to the building.

Not a Roman!

The first of the objective marker is completed.

It has been long overdue for a overhaul of my painting desk, workshop, home office or man cave*. So, focus this week has been on tidying stuff up.

*delete as appropriate

The Hobgoblin continues to be a regular beer of choice for a Friday night.

Only the weekend to go before Advent starts and the adventure begins....

The Paleo-Hunt Continues

 Big Game & Other Stuff

Painting some of the big stuff from Warfare in the form of some prehistoric beasties. Obviously the mammoth is looking a bit worse for wear but will provide a good focal point for a game or two. Quick and easy paint jobs on these minis but suit the subject.

Working on some more dwarves, the EM4 body provides a good starting point.

The first Roman gang is starting to take shape. I decided I was going to make the objective counters and tried to create some cobble stones on the base. I wasn't happy with the cobble effect, so I ordered a texture roller!

A dark beer for a dark Friday night.

Warfare 2025 Show

 A.K.A. Sherman Fireflies are Awesome

Had a great time at Warfare in Farnborough today and I did spend a bit more than I was planning! Plus managed to play a couple of games.

This will mean I can put together a new Wartnose jousting team of witches, go on a couple of paleo hunts and start my rise as the biggest gang in Rome. I wasn't planning on getting the Gangs of Rome but as soon as picked up the box and felt the weight. I just had to have a copy.

We first managed to get in on a game of 'What a Tanker' where I crewed a heroic Sherman Firefly and Jason took on a dastardly Panther. The Firefly took out two Panzer IVs and nearly took out Jason's Panther but got stuck in the open and eventually my luck ran out. And then of the course the Panther's 75mm gun found a weak spot. A really great participation game and run by a friendly team. It also hardly needs saying but what awesome terrain.

Also took part in an epic  historic battle between the Greeks and the Romans. The Greek Phalanx looked unstoppable but in true Roman form they still managed to duff us up. And a Roman victory was inevitable.

Plus a couple of pictures of a very nice looking large scale LotR game.
