A quick post before Colours (in Newbury tomorrow). So, I have nearly completed my C08 high collection, with just one mini left (on order!). And Since I did one of these finished mini cards, I had to do a couple more. Obviously thanks to Stuff of Legends for quick access to the originals.
The last one is from White Dwarf 59.
And as its Friday Night, another French beer.
Been busy away for work in the last couple weeks So, not really any painting until this evening. When I managed to splash on some paint on my alternative Lurtz Uruk-Hai captain. Who actually only has a very minor change with the Eye of Mordor shield design covered over with Green Stuff. And I just realised he has also got an Eye of Mordor design on his belt buckle that needs sorting.
Plus picked up some damaged Rangers of Ithilien as one of the many next classic LotR minis that need painting.
And I made up with the lack of painting with a couple of away beers.

Finally managed to get Strider on foot at a (semi) reasonable price. The reason why I say this is because it seems much easier to get the mounted mini than the mini on foot? In fact I have often found the mounted mini for less money than the foot mini. I can only assume that the mounted mini was produced in the same numbers as the foot mini. They were only ever sold as a set! But the mini on foot seems rarer and so at a higher price. Still money has been spent and the painting can commence.
As always thanks to Stuff of Legends from stopping me, having to root around in an incredibly hot loft to find my Citadel compendium.
No painting this week as I was away on business but I did get to see a very nice French castle. And of course a few beers.

Obviously not many posts in the last couple of weeks, as I was away for business in Singapore. But I did manage to sample a few local delights such as a Singapore sling in the famous Raffles bar & hotel. Which will not be a replacement for a classic Friday night beer but nice for a change. As well as being famous for the Singapore sling, it also famous for chucking the peanut shells on the floor. So, when in Rome...

Finished off two of the orcs from ME-51 Orcs of the Red Eye. I have been deliberately painting different skin tones for each of the different sets of Orcs. To be honest these orcs are looking a lot more purple in the pictures compared to real life.
I started with a black leather (from Scalecolor) had blue tone which is why I moved through to the purple but I thought the Deathclaw brown would offset that. obviously not as much as I thought. But I am ok with the final result.
Much happier with these eye of Sauron shield designs. I want them to look crude (they are orcs after all) but still have some artistic merit.
And I have been looking forward to this one, as it is from a small(ish) brewery near to where I used to live. And never disappoints.

Not a great deal of time for hobbying at the moment with work in general and trips in particular. But at least I am trying a few different beers! And I did manage to paint up Strider.

This time it is one for the orcs of White Hand. I picked him up recently and knew he was scabby but I didn't realise just how scabby until he turned up. However, once I got some paint on him I feel much better about him.

The problem with putting all of these minis along side each other. Just highlights how much my painting has moved on since returning to serious painting. And these half-orcs are some my favourite minis from the Oldhammer Lord of the Rings mini range. But now look a bit basic however for now they will escape the paint stripper...
And another thing, I don't understand why these are listed as Half-orcs of Saruman and yet the Uruk-Hai are clearly in the service of Sauron. Surely these should also be Uruk-Hai?
While I had a bit of green stuff left over from gap filling, I upgraded the next EM4 dwarf. I am enjoying thinking about different ways to improve these minis. So, after adding cloaks to the last batch, I decided this chap needed a bit more luxury. So gave him a fur lined cloak and a new breastplate.
And still working through my stockpile of Hopping Hare on a Friday night.

So, I finished off the Lord of the Nazgul. And given he is nearly all one colour, it seems to take quite a long time to paint him. But overall I am pleased with the final finish.
So, I have a choice on the other important decision I have to make tonight...
After some consideration I went with Tod's Blonde (first).

I managed to spray paint the Nazgul black, as I continue to work through some of my Oldhammer Lord of the rings minis.
And I managed to fix Legolas, after the disaster of last week. However, not much painting has been done this week. Hopefully next week...
And I had to rescue this lonely can of Hobgoblin after noticing it at the back of the fridge.
